Hey There

Just wanted to say hello and Intorduce myself. I moved to Nova Scotia last summer and it was around the same time that I was introduced to biking.
So for all of last summer and fall I enjoyed very much getting to know this awsome province on the back of my bf bike but early this spring I decided I wanted to be the one handling the bike so i signed up for my course and have been riding for a whole two weeks on my own now and must say I am loving it.
I wanted to start on a bile that I felt I could handle comfortable and safely so am now the proud owner of a Yamaha Virago 535. Ok it's not as mean looking or bad ass sounding as the bf Harley Crossbones but I love it just the same.
Cheers Theresa

Welcome, there is nothing wrong with a yammie, If it's your ride then it's your ride, Don't let them Harley people tell you otherwise. Enjoy the forum and don't be shy, get the BF to join up, we won't hold being a hardley rider against him

Welcome to Nova Scotia and the forum Theresa. Lots of of great roads to ride in this province. You're smart to start out on a ride that feels comfortable. Witnessed a young lady drop her ride in the parking lot at Fall River Tim's last weekend. It's a beautiful bike but way too much ride for her size and experience and took 3 guys to pick back up. Thankfully the only damaged, a few small scratches to the bike and a few dents in her pride but hey, poop happens.
Yamaha/Star Motorcycles have been around for a long time and have an excellent reputation. I've owned many bikes in my day (including Harley) and have returned to Yamaha for its reliability and cost. By the way did you know that your ride is considered to be a mid range cruiser (533ccs with 45hp @ 7500rpm is no toy). What year is your Virago?

The bike is a 96 and it's in great shape. Aww I feel so bad for the girl at Tim's there is always such a big croud there she must of wanted to slink away and yes poop happens. Mid range cruiser sounds so impressive
I think thats is how i will describe it.

Hello nighthawkrdr, thanks for the warm welcome. I think the best part other than the riding is gonna be meeting some amazing people.
