Wow, great video to show the affects of what something that you think is a good idea at the time, is actually just plain stupid.

yeah, I'm actually trying to get a few videos thrown together for training as well as presentations. This was a perfect video to go along with that I have already gathered up.

good video, and I think I will use it. Now I will prolly catch a bit of flame for this, but I think a lot of them accidents that were shown in that video could have been lessened or avoided if the bike riders themselves were a bit more aware that people out there don't watch for us. I mean when I am out on the road, I just assume that everyone else out there can't see me, and are out to kill me. I know its sad, but honestly its almost the attitude that you have to take when you’re riding. s the video says, most cagers don't look for us, or even really think about us. Now is it right we have to ride like everyone is out to kill us? No I don't think so, but I would rather be a bit disgusted and alive then dead.
I see stupid drivers all the time honestly, when I’m walking, driving the car/truck and on the bike. There are so many people out there that (to me) should never have gotten their licence/kept their licence. Almost every day that I am out anywhere I shake my head at something utterly stupid that someone has done while driving, you can even ask Melissa on this one. I mean if I shake my head when I am “safer” in a car, then it would be insane for me to think they are any different when I am on the bike. Even if I have a green light, I always slow down at intersections, crest of hills, blind turns, etc. I also almost always assume that anyone in front of me is going to do something completely stupid and try and kill me. Am I a bit paranoid? Yep, but so far its kept me a bit better out of harms way.

Flame you, I was almost thinking the same, I mean I feel for the guy that lost his arm and all but he did say he was riding thru a construction zone and if he came over the hill that fast that a rig surprised him then who was at fault. We as riders do have to more aware of our surrounding. You see a car stopped at an intersection, you slow down, cover your brakes, anticipate the worst, cars coming out of side streets same thing. We have to wake up as well. The video was good for all drivers to watch, you just have to get what it's saying to all groups of road users, including pedestrians. Person vs car, who is the winner huh.

I have to agree with you guys. My attitude when driving my truck or riding my bike is TRUST NO ONE. Murphy's law is always in effect and these rules have kept me from being a statistic so far.
