Site Upgrade
« on: February 07, 2010, 12:51:23 PM »
Its about that time to upgrade the forum.  So I been thinking that it might be a good idea to upgrade to SMF RC2 which comes with a content management system.  The advantage of this would be that everything thats on the front page would be accessable from everywhere else in the site.  So just a thought that I been toying with, I suppose time will tell, but look forward to the upgrade and maybe a new look and management system :)

This is a site I belong to that is built on the frame work you are looking at using. I am not promoting an outside forum. Thought you might like to look. Delete the link if you like.

yeah I looked at simplePortal too, what I have up is just a general idea.  It's more to see what the look and feel would be, I don't think what you see now will be the end product.  I keep playing with things everyday and find things I like and dislike.  I have also thought about completely changing forum scripts and moving to phpBB or VB.  Still not sure, but was thinking the basic layout would be something like what I put up.

Well guys, so far looks like I am going to use the SimplePortal layout.  Would like to get some more feedback from you guys before I start switching everything incase there is something better that I could be doing.  But as it sits, what you now see on the above link is pretty much what I am going to be going with.  (except for all the text, that will be changed :P)
