Chain Cleaning

What do you guys use for cleaning the chain on your bike?
and what do you use to rid of the bulky build up if it's treated differently?

I've not had a chain driven bike in many years but this is what I used to do. Remove the chain from the bike and place it in a film can or other semi shallow metal container coiled up. Add 10W30 or 10w40 to the container until it covers the chain and place on a Colman stove then boil the crap out of it. Ten or fifteen minutes should be fine or until you feel the chain is clean, let the oil cool and remove the chain from the oil wiping off excess oil as you go. It's best to let the chain hang for a day to let any residual oil drip out, re-wipe, reinstall and ta da nice shinny clean and very well lubricated chain. Hope this helps.
Remember, wherever you go... there you are.
Cheers

Never use that Castrol spray on lube to begin with. I use a de-greaser safe for rubber seals.( o-ring chain). I turn the wheel while holding a stiff finger nail brush to scrub the chain I do all four sides. Rinse well. Now  I re-lube with a 90 weight gear oil brushed on.
Cleaning is once a year, lubing is every 500KMS.
A center stand really helps. You should look into one of those wheel lifts

I use a grunge brush, thought the ones that you can find on the top of some lubes work ok.  If its really bad I clean with Karosine and then dry/relube.  I clean monthly, lube weekly, replace every 2 years (prolly not needed but I just replace the sprokets and chain as normal maint.  where I do some hard riding from time to time I like not having to worry)
