Riding Season comming to an end....
« on: September 14, 2009, 09:05:26 AM »
Well the days are getting colder and the riding time in a day is getting ever so shorter.  Anyone have any plans of a last big ride before putting the bike away for the winter?

Not really. Lately I haven't had the time just to do an extra little detour on the way home.

It's the frost I see in the early mornings when riding to work that puts a chill down my spine. The days are still pretty warm so I'm trying to ride only during daylight hours, short hops of 5 or 6 hours return. Trying to get as much a$$ time in as possible before mothballing her for the season.

It's not the cold or frost, it's the leaves that bug me. They are already turning colour outside my door. They will soon be on the roads.

I hear yah, and something else to be aware of are the road snakes and painted lines. With heavy dews and sea smoke in the morning the road appears dry but these babies lay in wait.

Take that as gospel all new to the Fall season riders.

Got a great ride in this past Sunday and so far this weeks not lookin too bad. The 25 minute ride to work at 7am is chilly but the 3 hour ride home is fantastic!

Got out today for a few hours, I have to admit it was a little brisk. Lots of bikes at Tim's in Fall River. One can assume that it won't be long now before people will be storing their babies for winter.

LOL Yes, we all have those kinda days, they're just good for your head... like this coming Saturday, it's supposed to be warm and sunny so I'm planning to ride. A little afternoon scoot to Windsor for coffee and back via the back roads may be in order. Let me know if your interested.
