Travel insurance to cover a bike that's not being driven across Canada

Just wondering if someone has ever sent a bike across Canada or anywheres really and was able to get some sort of insurance on the bike for the trip.

My issue is that where my bike and my gf bikes will be towed in September to BC for me which will not be by me but my brothers friend that is heading out that way and my insurance has expired as of today. I will not be riding my bike again until it reaches out west so I was not going to start another plan then cancel and for one month they wanted around $250-$300 just to cover for one extra month though I will not be driving it.

Talked to my insurance today and they said theres no travel insurance that I can get to go on it just to cover the bike being on a trailer in case something happens. Only way it would be covered is if it was being shipped through a shipping company.

Anyways, just wondering if anyone has run into this issue before.

far as I know, whoever it toweing the bikes if they have full coverage and are properly geared up to tow the traile;  they're insurance will cover anything that happens.  May want to check into it a bit more though, can't really remember 100% how it works.  Berwick might know something about this, I think he moved a bike not long ago ??
